Luis Garcia is a Peruvian-American Lighting and Media designer who currently resides and works on Piscataway land, commonly known as College Park Maryland. His work includes but is not limited to theatre, dance, digital and other live performance art.

Luis recieved his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Stetson University in 2016 and is currently on track to recieve his MFA in Theatre Design from the University of Maryland by 2024.

In 2018, Luis was chosen as one of Live Design’s 30 Under 30 which recognizes “thirty young movers and shakers who are changing paradigms, looking at things from new angles, and rapidly rising to the forefront of their field.”

Luis’s mission as an artist is to use everything they learn and earn in their life to act as a mirror to a younger BIPOC generation of artists who think they don’t fit in this world because their authentic selves aren’t represented on the big stage. He wants to remind them that it’s okay to be different.

Luis is an alumni of the 2017 OSF F.A.I.R Program and the 2016 USITT Gateway Cohert.
